Our products
We sell handmade woodturning and textile pieces. Each listing describes the item offered, including its material, dimensions, intended use and any important features or limitations. Where a photograph shows the individual piece for sale, that is the piece we will supply unless the listing clearly explains otherwise.
Wood grain, colour and natural features vary. Handspun and hand-dyed fibres can also vary in texture and shade. We describe significant features and known defects in the listing. Photographs and screen settings may affect colour appearance. These points do not limit your right to receive goods that are satisfactory, fit for an agreed purpose and as described.
Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling. Any applicable taxes are included in the displayed consumer price. Delivery charges and any optional extras are shown before you place your order. We will not charge for optional extras without your express agreement.
Payment is available through PayPal. The payment choices available for an order are shown at checkout.
Placing an order
Review the goods, quantities, address and total before submitting payment. If you notice an error afterwards, contact us promptly. Orders are placed in English. You can save or print these terms.
A contract is formed when Payment and Confirmation is received by the seller. An automatic acknowledgement of receipt is not acceptance unless it expressly confirms that we have accepted your order.
If an item is unavailable or we cannot accept an order, we will tell you and promptly refund any payment already taken for it. If a price or listing error affects your order, we will contact you to resolve it before accepting; we will not substitute a higher price without your agreement.
Delivery
The delivery areas, charges and expected times are explained on our Delivery Information page and at checkout. We will deliver within the agreed time, or within 30 days after the contract is made if no different period has been agreed.
We remain responsible for goods sent using our delivery service until they reach you or the person you nominate to receive them. Your statutory rights relating to late delivery, loss and damage apply.
Cancellations and returns
Our Returns, Refunds and Cancellations page forms part of these terms. Ordinary ready-made handmade goods are normally covered by the online cancellation right. Any exception for goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised will be explained before you order. Faulty-goods rights continue to apply.
Your consumer rights
We are responsible for supplying goods that meet your consumer rights. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts those rights, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Complaints and disputes
Contact huw.shields@huwshields.com if you have a complaint. We will acknowledge it within 3 days and explain how we will investigate it. If we cannot resolve the complaint, we will provide any information about alternative dispute resolution that the law requires and explain whether we will participate.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. This does not take away mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live or prevent you from bringing proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable consumer law.
Changes to these terms
The terms supplied for your order apply to that order. Later changes apply to future orders. Last updated 18 October 2026.
